Montauk Fishing Report – November 11th, 2009
Montauk Black Fishing is Hot
The highlight of this month is the Blackfishing out in Montauk. We are out just about every other day fishing for Montauk blackfish and have been doing well with fish to 10lbs. We have not seen blackfish this good out in Montauk in many years and the blackfishing should continue strong over the next couple of weeks, well into December. This is the time to cash in on these tough fighting toothy fish.
We have had several charters recently targeting Blackfish and the time is really now to be fishing for black fish during prime season. We will be sailing an open boat so give us a call.
Montauk Fall Run Striped Bass Still Strong
Some larger Stripers have moved in with several fish over 30lbs coming over the rails in the past two days. These are the first big fish we have had in the rips since the recent blow. There is still a lot of season left this year for Montauk’s monster striped bass. Right now, there is still plenty of bait with tons of sand eels and even some adult bunker moving through the rips. The herring have yet to show up but when they do the bass fishing should be incredible. Give us a call to check in on the herring run which should happen very soon.
Montauk Cod Fish Are Here Already
Just yesterday, brother’s Jonny and Roy were out fishing a local spot for Montauk Cod. The buddies drilled 22 cod in just a few short hours, with Jonny taking Roy to school on how to bring them over the rails. The fish are here and we are are going to start fishing open boat this week, so give us a call to book your spot for Montauk Cod fishing.
